Dean Leclerc, Director of Engineering from Whalley Computer Associates will host a session focused on new Hybrid Classroom technologies, and solutions to managed them. WCA was founded by John Whalley, a high school math teacher and IT administrator and the company continues to play a significant role in helping schools of all sizes implement and support technology. This session will cover wired and wireless infrastructure concerns as well as tools and techniques to monitor your remote students and faculty. Dean will also talk about Internet connectivity and bandwidth management and testing.
Speaker Bio: Dean is currently the Director of Engineering at WCA and has been with the company since 1985 when he joined the technical team. Dean brings over 35 years of experience working with all WCA clients across all vertical markets. Dean has held many technical certifications throughout his various roles at WCA. Today Dean works with the account teams and the TAM Team to provide both business and technical design and deployment consulting services. Dean also works directly with our manufactures to determine that our portfolio of products and services continues to be on the cutting edge while meeting all our client’s needs.

This session will explore the latest advancements in both wired and wireless networking and how you can leverage your wireless network to provide secure internet to remote learners. We will start by providing an overview of Remote Access Point (RAP) technology and how this can provide both enhanced remote wireless performance to users with limited internet options as well as extend your schools security policies to the remote user’s environment. We will also explore alternative funding strategies, like grant opportunities, to assist with your distance learning model. We will be taking your questions using the chat feature.
Presenter Bio: Jason Cote is an Aruba Certified Edge Professional, and has been designing Aruba networks for the last 5 years for K-12, Higher Education and Healthcare teams in Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine. Previously, he served for 15 years in Network and System Engineering positions, primarily in Healthcare and K-12 Education. Jason likes to be engaged with the local IT Directors to further strong network design, understanding that each environment is unique, and needs to be designed appropriately to the needs of the environment. He firmly believes in the importance of having a user focused environment that is simple, smart, and secure. Jason is an Eagle Scout and enjoys the outdoors, hiking, skiing, and camping.

In this session, Shannon McClintock Miller will share lots of ways we can lead and support our districts throughout the school year, and through our journey with remote and continuous learning.
Presenter Bio: Shannon McClintock Miller is the Innovation Director of Instructional Technology and Library Media at Van Meter Community School in Van Meter, Iowa. She is also the Future Ready Librarians Spokesperson working with librarians, educators and students around the world every day as an international speaker, consultant and author who has a passion for education, librarianship, advocacy, technology, social media and making a difference in the world and lives of others, especially children. Shannon brings a special expertise and vision to conversations around school libraries, education, technology, creativity and student voice.
Shannon also serves as Buncee’s Teacher Librarian Advisor and Capstone’s Teacher Librarian Advocate. Shannon is the author of the award winning The Library Voice blog and enjoys writing for various blogs, journals and other forums including ISTE, School Library Journal and Publishers Weekly. She have written four picture books about library skills with Cantata Learning; eight graphic novels in the Adventures in Makerspace series with Capstone; one professional book with her friend Bill Bass, which was published by ISTE; and has contributed to several professional books included the most recent with 10 other educators which is part of the Routledge Great Educators Series.
