Purchasing Consortia
Vermont is a thriving educational landscape, and it is made up of primarily rural and small districts. Altogether, there are 55 Supervisory Unions serving approximately 80,000 students preK-12. Independent schools account for approximately 11,500 students in more than 135 schools.
When viewed as a single entity, the K-12 schools of Vermont represent a very large US district. However, like many large US districts, it can mean interacting with hundreds of individual purchasers and business offices. The Vita-Learn Purchasing Consortia can help!
Value to Vita Learn Members
The Vita-Learn Executive Director and Board of Directors review each partner. During that review, we determine if the partner’s solutions appear to be of value to our members. Inclusion as a partner in the Vita-Learn Purchasing Consortia should not be considered a promotion or recommendation of that partner or their solutions. Vita-Learn’s primary goal is to aid member institutions gain better pricing as well as to help broaden the number of options in consideration for use in member institutions.
- For tool-based solutions, we primarily focus on whether or not the tool’s functionality and purpose appears to have classroom or school/district value, but we do not complete a rigorous testing and evaluation of the tools itself.
- For solutions that include content, we primarily focus on whether or not the content appears to be specific to serving the needs of K12 schools, but we do not complete a rigorous evaluation to determine alignment with state learning standards or quality of content.
- Partners are required to agree to sign the Vermont Student Data Privacy Agreement (https://sdpc.a4l.org/view_alliance.php?state=VT). It is the member institution’s responsibility to execute this agreement or to append an Exhibit E to an already executed agreement.
While we firmly believe that our partners offer quality solutions and content, Vita-Learn expects that individual member institutions will complete their own evaluations before making purchasing decisions.
