A Framework for the New Renaissance: Designing Interdisciplinary Pathways for AI and the Humanities

How do we ensure that the future of learning remains a profoundly human endeavor in an era of rapid technological change? Join Dr. Ruben Puentedura and leadership teams from across Vermont for a half-day working intensive designed to bridge the gap between curriculum, technology, and the humanities. This symposium is built on the premise that AI’s greatest value is realized only when it is anchored by the humanities.

Moving beyond technical implementation, district teams will use three Essential Questions posed by Dr. Puentedura as a framework to begin drafting a “plan for a plan” for their schools:

• • The Partnership: What if we put the humanities at the core of future learning, in full partnership with the arts and STEM?
  • The Process: What if we constructed rich uses for AI, building processes that support new pathways for exploration, creation, and reflection?
  • The Inclusion: What if we did this with and for everybody, from the youngest to the oldest learners? Why Attend?

This is a session for the architects of learning. Rather than viewing AI in isolation, we will explore how to align district infrastructure with a human-centered pedagogical vision.
