Teen Health and Wellness
March 16, 2021 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm EDT
Presenter: Miriam Gilbert
We know the kids are not alright, and neither are we. The award-winning TeenHealth & Wellness can help. Designed for students grades 7-12, Teen Health & Wellness provides up-to-date, nonjudgmental, curricular, and self-help support on topics including stress, bullying, suicide, academic anxiety, vaping, opioid abuse, gender identity, school safety, sexual harassment, and more.
Teen Health & Wellness holds a mirror to the lived world with continuously updated coverage of the twin pandemics of Racism and COVID-19, and more. Personal Stories, published in the database, written by teens across North America about “Life in the Time of COVID,” are a window into their personal worlds–family, friendships, and hopes for the future.
Current, credible, and correlated to state, as well CASEL (Collaborative on Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning) standards, Teen Health & Wellness supports teen social emotional development and a school or district’s trauma-informed practices.
One thought-leader said this: “THW is one of the first resources I thought of when remote learning began. It is much more than a place to point learners and educators for information. It builds community, authentically supports learners academically and emotionally, and allows students to create a record of this time.”
— Dr. Jen Cannell, Educator
In March 2021, Teen Health & Wellness will launch the new Calm Room feature. The Calm Room will be accessible from the home page of Teen Health & Wellness, and throughout the resource. Consider this Rosen’s “care package” to educators, staff, as well as students. We all need the moments of peace the Calm Room provides. And your learning community needs Teen Health & Wellness.
