Code of Conduct

This Code of Conduct applies to all events, whether in-person or virtual, organized or sponsored by Vita-Learn. Our organization is committed to providing a professional, inclusive, safe, and welcoming environment for all participants. We value diversity and expect all attendees, including speakers, sponsors, volunteers, and staff, to contribute to a positive and respectful experience for everyone, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, disability, race, ethnicity, religion, national origin, age, socioeconomic status, or any other protected characteristic.


Scope

This Code of Conduct applies to all aspects of our events, including conferences, workshops, webinars, online forums, social gatherings, and any related activities.


Expected Behavior

All participants are expected to:

  • Behave professionally and respectfully in all interactions.
  • Treat all individuals with courtesy, consideration, and dignity.
  • Communicate openly and respectfully, valuing diverse perspectives.
  • Be mindful of their surroundings and the impact of their actions on others.
  • Comply with all applicable laws, policies, and event rules.
  • Consume alcohol responsibly, if it is served.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information shared during events, when appropriate.
  • Presenters are expected to deliver content that is relevant to the session topic, maintain a professional demeanor, and avoid promoting personal agendas or engaging in discriminatory or offensive speech.

Unacceptable Behavior

The following behaviors are strictly prohibited and will not be tolerated:

  • Any form of harassment, discrimination, or violence.
  • Intimidating, threatening, or abusive conduct.
  • Offensive or derogatory language, including slurs, epithets, and hate speech.
  • Inappropriate physical contact or unwelcome sexual advances.
  • Disruptive behavior that interferes with event activities or other participants’ enjoyment of the event.
  • Unauthorized recording, photographing, or distribution of presentations or materials.
  • Possession of weapons or illegal substances.
  • Any behavior that creates a hostile or unsafe environment.
  • Retaliation against anyone who reports a violation of this Code of Conduct.

Health and Safety

All participants are expected to:

  • Prioritize their own health and safety, as well as the health and safety of others.
  • Comply with all applicable health and safety guidelines, including those related to communicable diseases, as directed by event organizers and public health authorities.
  • Respect personal space and boundaries.
  • Report any safety concerns or medical emergencies to event staff immediately.

Reporting Incidents

Any person who experiences or witnesses a violation of this Code of Conduct is encouraged to report it promptly. Reports should be made to designated event staff, organizers, or director@vita-learn.org. All reports will be treated seriously and with confidentiality, to the extent possible.


Consequences of Misconduct

Violations of this Code of Conduct may result in consequences, including, but not limited to:

  • Verbal or written warning.
  • Immediate removal from the event without refund.
  • Prohibition from attending future events.
  • Referral to relevant authorities, if necessary.

The event organizers reserve the right to take any action they deem necessary and appropriate to ensure a safe, respectful, and productive environment for all participants.


Enforcement

Event organizers are responsible for enforcing this Code of Conduct. All participants are expected to cooperate with event staff and organizers in upholding this Code.


Acknowledgment

By attending or participating in any Vita-Learn event, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to abide by this Code of Conduct.
