Brighten Learning has been focused on Social-Emotional Learning (SEL), Career Exploration and Life Readiness Skills since 2010. Our cloud-based animated programs use clever interactive simulations to teach learners how to be successful in life.
Now in 2022, given the reality of COVID school closings, quarantines and increased negative behaviors and anxiety, students need opportunities to learn how to relate to each other as well as how to find themselves. Now, more than ever, we need to prioritize SEL and our students’ mental health.

Brighten Learning provides quality professional development on Trauma Informed Practices to learn about how trauma affects the brain, emotional responses resulting from trauma, and practical strategies for addressing trauma and supporting students in developing their learning brain. We offer several formats for this training. Two popular ones are:
TRAUMA AND RESTORATIVE PRACTICES– Two-hour session offers educators a deep dive into Trauma Informed Practices with lots of strategies and follow-up after implementation.
FOCUS– Facilitating Opportunities for Community Understanding of Social Emotional Well-being. A comprehensive PD delivered over multiple sessions with 15 guided activities. (Successful completion of the course can earn one Continuing Ed credit!)

I use Social Express with my 6th, 7th, and some 8th graders. I love how interactive and engaging the webisodes are along with the activities afterwards. The majority of my students would rather watch a webisode from Social Express than doing an activity I have pre-planned for them. I have seen a lot of progress since starting Social Express with my students. I love how there are webisodes for most situations that cause predicaments in middle school. I highly recommend Social Express for other districts!
