The Modern Classrooms Project (MCP) is offering VITA-learn districts free scholarships to pilot their Virtual Mentorship Program (VMP) via a 5-week Virtual Summer Institute (starts June 26). MCP, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, empowers educators to build classrooms that respond to every student’s needs through a blended, self-paced, mastery-based instructional model that leverages technology to create greater personalization and connection in classrooms.

The VMP usually costs $750, but MCP is offering VITA-learn an initial free pilot to include 2-5 Institutional member districts resulting in 25 VMP enrollments in the Virtual Summer Institute (minimum of 5 teachers per district). The goal is to demonstrate the benefits of blended, self-paced, mastery-based learning in a cost-effective manner and establish a foundation of a relationship between MCP and VITA-learn that can grow in the region.

The benefits of the pilot include seeding classrooms that demonstrate the benefits of the MCP instructional model, building a community of practitioners connected through VITA-learn, providing proofs of concept that can demonstrate more effective use of edtech, and limited effort required from VITA-learn staff as MCP has the experience and processes required to support outreach to districts and enrollment.

The timeline for the pilot is to identify pilot districts and register the initial cohort by June 4th. A representative of the MCP will be at Dynamic Landscapes if you would like to schedule a brief meeting to learn more.

MCP’s VMP offers a unique approach to instructional redesign that can help teachers use the technology, tools, curriculum, and assessments they already have, so they can focus on the instructional redesign required to realize the efficacy and impact without additional noise. MCP’s instructional model supports students with diverse learning levels and social-emotional needs by providing greater personalization and connection in classrooms.

By taking advantage of MCP’s free pilot program, VITA-learn members have the opportunity to experience the benefits of MCP’s instructional model and build a relationship with a valuable partner in education. If your district is interested, please contact Jeff Mao. Registrations for the pilot program must be complete by June 4th to join the movement of educators in implementing a blended, self-paced, mastery-based instructional model that is adaptable to all classrooms in every grade and subject.
