Gaby Richard-Harrington — left handed, athletic, creative, multitasker, lifelong learner… entrepreneur…she arrived at Hampshire College in September 2019 as the new instructional technologist and worked hard to help with the transition to emergency remote learning in response to the Pandemic. This transition increased awareness of and revealed some critical accessibility issues regarding course materials and students knowing how to use the digital tools that we provide for these purposes.

Before coming to Hampshire, she taught tech skills to students in elementary and middle school for 20+ years. In some districts she worked directly with faculty to strategically and effectively integrate technology for teaching and learning. She worked with faculty at Westfield State when they started their online learning programs, and she spent three years as the Northampton Public School Assistive Technology Specialist PK-12. Gaby is an Apple and Microsoft Certified Educator, earned her Google Level I and II Educator Certifications and is working toward a Google Trainer Certificate. Gaby was part of one of the first cohorts in ISTE’s new Certification Program, completed her portfolio and became one of the first 100 ISTE Certified Educators. Gaby is the President of the New England ISTE Affiliate. She has earned MA K12 ITS, Director, Principal PK-12 licenses and an SEI endorsement. As a life-long learner, it is Gaby’s passion to continually update her skills to advance her career and take on challenging new positions.

It is now her mission to spread Universal Design for Learning across the Hampshire College Campus Community. She looks forward to working with you to be more successful accessing the materials to increase your success now and in the future.
